RECOMMENDATIONS ON THE CHOICE OF INTRAOCULAR TAPES:

BEFORE THE OPERATION:

1. Expand the pupil as much as possible with drops, so that the entire lens is visible. Approximately (using a ruler), measure the largest diameter of the lens. The size of the Intraocular Tape haptics should be at least 1 mm SMALLER than the maximum diameter of the lens.

2. Approximately (using a ruler) measure the diameter of the cornea of the operated eye. The size of the Intraocular Tape haptics should be 3-4 mm SMALLER than the diameter of the cornea.

3. Make an ultrasound scanning of the eyeball and accurately measure the maximum diameter of the lens. The size of the Intraocular Tape haptics should be equal to or less than the maximum diameter of the lens.

AT THE OPERATION:

On the maximum dilated pupil, after filling the anterior chamber with viscoelastic, use a microsurgical measuring compass to accurately measure the maximum diameter of the lens. The size of the Intraocular Tape haptics should be SLIGHTLY SMALLER than the maximum diameter of the lens.
When removing traumatic cataracts, it is advisable to have a spare Intraocular Tape one size SMALLER.
For cataract surgery in animals up to 6-8 months old, it is desirable to have a spare Intraocular Tape one size SMALLER.
